Tryouts 2026-2027

IMPORTANT TRYOUT INFORMATION

Please be sure you fully understand what you are signing up for before attending tryouts. While making a top team can be exciting and flattering, it also requires a high level of dedication, commitment, and accountability to be a strong and reliable teammate.

If you are selected for one of these teams, expectations for effort, attendance, and commitment will be significant. We want to ensure every athlete and family understands the level of responsibility that comes with being part of a competitive program.

This season, team scheduling will be determined based on overall team talent, goals, and competitive readiness for specific tournaments.

We will no longer use the terms “National” and “Power.” Instead, scheduling and tournament schedule will be assigned on a per-team basis as soon as teams are formed.  Sample tournament schedules will be available.

There are important updates to the handbook regarding scholarship applications, mandatory fundraising requirements, and expectations for commitment—particularly for dual-sport athletes.

Dual Sport Athlete Requirement

(Pre-Requisite for Tryouts)

All dual-sport athletes must understand and agree to the following expectations as a prerequisite to trying out for the club. While we fully support and encourage participation in multiple sports, athletes must provide their complete seasonal schedule as early as possible so proper planning can be done. Development within our program is dependent on consistent attendance, and athletes cannot be adequately developed when they are frequently absent. Team cohesion and performance are also directly affected when practices are missed on a regular basis.

It is not realistic to miss multiple practices during the week and still expect to start in tournament play. Athletes participating in dual sports are expected to demonstrate equal commitment to both programs, and if a balanced commitment is not maintained, it will directly impact development and may result in reduced playing time. Clear and timely communication is required at all times, especially at the beginning of the season, in order to support both the athlete and the team effectively.  By attending tryouts, athletes and families acknowledge and accept these expectations.

Scholarship Application Requirement

All athletes requesting financial assistance must complete the official scholarship application process prior to participating in tryouts. Applications must be submitted by the designated deadline in order to be considered. Scholarship support is intended for athletes who demonstrate both financial need and a strong commitment to the club program.

All scholarship recipients are expected to maintain full participation in all team requirements, including practices, tournaments, and mandatory club events. Receiving financial assistance does not change or reduce any expectations related to attendance, effort, behavior, or commitment. All athletes, regardless of scholarship status, are held to the same standards within the program.

Scholarship awards are reviewed on an annual basis and are not guaranteed for renewal. Continued eligibility is based on consistent commitment, communication, and adherence to all club policies outlined in the handbook.

Failure to meet program expectations may result in adjustment or removal of scholarship support.
